So, Fallout 4 mods are supposed to be finally coming to PlayStation 4 this month, but as is all too often the case with Bethesda when it comes to working with Sony's consoles, things aren't quite as simple as they should be. Just recently, Bethesda released some notes on the incoming mod support, and was quick to outline some potential problems.
"PC textures are used. Memory and performance issues may occur. We are working with Sony on optimal texture exporting support in a future update," reads the first bullet point. "Sound files are currently not supported. PS4 sound format is a proprietary format. We are working with Sony on sound file processing support in a future update," reads the second. "PS4 Mod Storage limit is approximately 900 MB at present. Please do not upload mods larger than 900 MB. We are working with Sony to increase this limit," reads the third and final point.

Now, we don't know the technical ins and outs of modding - especially when it comes to bringing mods from PC to console - but what we do know is that it sounds like mods on PS4 are going to be stuck with several limitations. Mod support will go through a beta phase on PS4 very soon, which will hopefully iron out some of the issues - but let's not forget that Far Harbor had a beta on Sony's system, too, and that didn't turn out great, did it?
I just want mods to fix the little things Bethesda can't be bothered with. Like ballistic weave on one type of fedora but not another, or green shirt and combat boots but not flannel shirt and jeans. I also want ammo crafting like in New Vegas.
To be honest i never thought mods would come to the PS4. Maybe a few small mods, but not to the extent the xbone would get. Complete cancellation on PS4 i thought very possible with the reason that the mods could not be made to work well on PS4.
@3Above The 'delay' was because Mods will come to Xbox first as stated at last years MS E3 briefing. When Mods were first announced, they were only announced for Xbox (in terms of consoles). After E3, they said they hoped to bring mods to PS4 afterwards but couldn't promise because of Sonys current structure/rule set - in other words they have had more freedom and support from MS to bring Mods to console than they have from Sony.
At this point you're really not allowed to complain anymore. If you own a playstation system, and you've played an open world bethesda game on it, and you STILL bought fallout 4, you set yourself up for failure.
Hi everyone,Following the mod since a few time now,When finished, with leveled lists and located in armories or secret locations, it will be the greatest mods i think!!!Am i the only one to have a problem with the sound of Ar15 (M16 A3, A4....) which is absent on last posted version?
My Fallout mods always either come with explicit installation instructions or are installed for me, either by Bethesda or NMM. I have spent hours browsing google and all of your official forums for instructions. I have tried extracting to both the common/fallout 4 file and the common/fallout 4/data folders. the results vary from making all weapons invisible to making some weapons invisible to making my pip boy invisible. somehow.

The "Hot Coffee" controversy and subsequent legal and financial action soured the relationships among Rockstar Games, the video game industry, and the modding community. By refusing to publicly comment on the ongoing scandal, Rockstar Games was accused of cowardice by Lowenstein, who said, "If you want to be controversial, that's great ... but then don't duck and cover when the shit hits the fan. Stand up and defend what you make."[14] In a 2012 interview, Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser responded to the backlash surrounding Grand Theft Auto's controversial content, stating, "We never felt that we were being attacked for the content, we were being attacked for the medium, which felt a little unfair. If all of this stuff had been put into a book or a movie, people wouldn't have blinked an eye."[56] The modding community, meanwhile, felt alienated by Rockstar Games' response to the controversy: in addition to taking the blame for the cultural fallout around "Hot Coffee", they were informed that future versions of the game would be "much more mod-resistant".[12][17] GTAGarage.com voluntarily removed "Hot Coffee" amidst the controversy, but the negative response that the minigame generated resulted in a chilling effect. Some modders feared that all game alterations would be taken as intentionally hidden content, which could in turn lead to more legal restrictions on video games.[17]
Although the mod is clearly a joking reference to an older era of Rockstar Games, the developer and publisher Take-Two are reportedly unhappy with it. One of the modders, who goes by the name Unlosing, confirmed to PCGamesN that they were contacted by Take-Two to take down the mod. This isn't surprising considering Take-Two had to settle with the FTC following the fallout of the hot coffee mod, and later versions of the game completely removed the content.
Like most Bethesda games, Fallout 4 is practically made for modding and has a relentlessly active community tinkering with every aspect of the game. It's not unreasonable to say people have spent far more hours playing with modded content than with the base storyline, as there's everything from mods that turn Fallout 4 into a horror game to of course an absurd number of NSFW nude mods.
After some serious hiccups, Fallout 4 mods have finally made the leap to console, and while it seemed like Sony fans were going to be left in the lurch, Bethesda has made good on its promise, as the PS4 now gets in on the modding extravaganza!
There are more than 600 mods currently available for PS4 users, and that number will only continue jumping skyward. PC gamers looking at what's available may have noticed a curious lack of a certain kind of mod, however...
While games like Watch Dogs 2 come straight out of the box with full frontal nudity of both the male and female variety, for some reason Bethesda remains opposed to nude mods for Fallout and Elder Scrolls games on consoles.
Sadly, that means staples like Caliente's Beautiful Body Enhancer won't be available (at least not yet) -- but if you look hard enough, there are still some solid NSFW mods that get us at least towards nude-ish.
While the base Fallout 4 experience lets you blow off heads and limbs, these mods change the mechanics, altering the appearance of dismemberment and making it occur more frequently for a head and limb-strewn wasteland experience.
While the options are now are incredibly sparse and don't give nearly the range of features available on PC, give it time and body replacement mods like Busty GRRL and less fully nude versions of the various body enhancer mods will arrive on PS4.
There are a phenomenal amount of Fallout 4 mods out there so you will want this Mod Configuration Menu to organise them all. This feature pops up at the top of the pause menu and provides a central location to tinker with all the settings of the mods you have installed. With more sliders, buttons, and checkboxes that you can shake a mole rat at, make sure you install this mod early on and fiddle with all your mods nice and simply.
From the red-hot Arsonist to the thoroughly modern House Husband, occupations define your starting gear, weapon, perk, and location as well as faction allies. It also dictates the starting quests you are given. Another Life, then, is one of the best Fallout 4 mods for replay value.
Much like the extra 512 hair colors from a few mods back, this add-on by NexusMods user Rbddc12 seeks to solve the issue of insufficient hairstyles by completely flipping the pancake and giving you way too many to choose from. 2ff7e9595c
